The appetite for data visualisation is rising. Why? Organisations want people to act on data not look at it. Valuable business insights can be realised immediately looking at data through “big data” analytics. Big data environments are naturally the most challenging. Users want to use visualisation on big data to understand data analytics, predictive analytics, business intelligence. Many think that IT departments may have to look at Business Intelligence differently and embrace visualisation as means to really use big data.

In our Business Intelligence survey conducted with 190 particiapants most of them from a BI or Finance background. 67% of people agreed that data visualisations played a “very valuable” role in providing important business insights. The highest score for any topic. Asked if they would like to see a visualisation environment being introduced into their existing BI sphere, 76% said "Yes", 15% said “don’t know” qualifying it by stating know what it was.

Business Intelligence Dashboards are seen as the No. 1 most effective to leverage big data residing the enterprise environment.
