Implementation
 How
your manufacturing solution is implemented
is core to the success of the system within
your company. As dedicated implementation
partners, MXI Software will provide you with
one or more consultants, who will attend
site to assist you in the process.
Once the system is installed and configured
to your needs, an experienced MXI
implementor will work with you to ensure
that everything runs smoothly. The process
begins with an analysis of your business and
what goals are to be achieved. A project
meeting is then held, which is attended by
all members of the implementation team. A
project plan is devised by the team
detailing all of the tasks to be achieved,
with realistic target completion times and
dates. This plan forms the backbone of the
implementation, and is referred to and
revised right throughout the project.
Depending on the implementation strategy
agreed upon at the initial project meeting,
a pilot run may be appropriate. In this
scenario, a workshop environment is created,
whereby the system is trialled on, for
example, one product or a product range. In
this way, the system can be stress-tested to
ensure that everything will go according to
plan upon system take-on.
Training
& Consultancy
 Training
is the core to the successful operations of
any business system. It is imperative that
all users be competent in the use of the
areas of the system relevant to them. For
this very reason, a large proportion of the
Project Lifecycle is devoted to software
training for the users.
Implementation Training is provided to
customers who have recently purchased a MXI
Software Product. Users of the system will
receive training in the system areas
applicable to them. Some larger companies
will appoint an individual as the firms
software expert . This person will undertake
a system wide training, and will in turn
train all relevant personnel. This ‘train
the trainer’ approach is becoming
increasingly popular.
Production training may be necessary if
there is a change in personnel and/or
software upgrades are introduced. Customers
may need to employ additional MXI Training
Services. This can be done either at the
customer’s site, or at our office
Consulting
Services allows customers to get the most
from their IT investment. From deploying
product upgrades to helping you implement
additional options, such as bar-coding,
accounting links and report modifications.
Report Writer & Bespoke Services
Business Intelligence
MXI specialises in the delivery of reporting
solutions to our customers. Whether it be
simple modifications to standard system
reports, or fully customised reports written
from scratch, MXI has the answer.
 Our
development service provides you with a
quick and efficient solution to your
reporting needs. Reports are instantly
delivered via e-mail for your approval and
sign-off.
Advanced data analysis tools such as Crystal
Analysis and Di-Diver are also available
from MXI. These tools will allow you to
drill-down from global summary data to a
specific detail in seconds, and “slice and
dice” the data as required. This true
“Business Intelligence” aims to allow you to
USE your data, not simply look at it.
Full training services in Crystal Reports,
Crystal Analysis and Di-Diver are available
from MXI. Courses range from a one-day,
introductory course, right through to a
three-day advanced level course, conducted
at customer sites or at MXI. All training
provides practical examples of relevance to
attendees.
Bespoke Software Services
MXI Bespoke Software Services ensures
that your manufacturing system is tailored
to fit your exact needs. In most cases,
while the standard product will address
90-95% of the customer’s needs, the
remaining 5-10% must be addressed via
bespoke software design. This may involve
writing specific code to report on your data
in a required format, or may simply be a
case of re-designing screens to better suit
your needs. Whatever your requirement, MXI
